Hopefully, I can describe this trouble well as I don't know how the pictures volition look. If I'm continuing at the front of my camper (it's closed) the right side has space to put 2 fingers upward nether the "lid". On the left side you tin can't fit whatsoever fingers under the hat. This is causing a gap near the door when airtight. And it's the opposite in the dorsum.

So, continuing in the front facing the camper like before - the right side has space for two fingers and the dorsum correct has no space for fingers. The left forepart has no space for whatsoever fingers and the back left infinite has infinite for fingers. It's out of whack somehow.

This is the right forepart. Notice space relative

From your clarification, I'd say the frame is twisted. I can't imagine how this would come most except by collision or something like. Anyway, take it to a automobile torso shop. Those guy's deal with bent frames all the time and can either fix information technology for you or. direct yous to a shop that does that kind of piece of work. Body shops have a jig that they apply to curve the frame back to the original shape and dimensions. Easy chore if you accept the right tools. Good luck..... Jeff

One way to ostend whether the frame is aptitude is to park the camper to the flattest piece of concrete you can detect, then measure out from each corner to the footing. The concrete just has to be flat, non level. The right-hand and corresponding left-hand measurements should exist shut.

If those are within 1/ii", try measuring from the tiptop of the corners of the box to the ground, and from the top corners of the roof to the ground. In all cases those measurements should exist shut equally well.

This will help sort out whether information technology'due south your frame that'south bent, or if the camper itself is out of square (which can happen if there is floor rot, and 1 corner or terminate of the box settles over the frame). If the frame measurements are comparable left to right, and then information technology's more likely that either your box is settled. If the frame and box measurements are OK, then it may be the roof itself that is warped--a common problem when the sides have rot.

weird. I've posted pics to this site earlier and the aforementioned way and it's always worked. As far as the rot scenario: this is a make new camper so I can't imagine rot is the crusade. warped roof or bent frame. I'll try pics over again below (I'chiliad using the from google photos). This is nevertheless nether warranty so may try that route. The first photo is the left forepart and is close tightly. Second photo shows the gap. This is the same equally in the back except on contrary sides

Start photo is the right front with the gap. Second is the left front with no gap. The last pic is looking at the left front but from the door side. You can see how far back the cover is pulled to the camper (if photos piece of work)

Alas, still tin't encounter your photos.

The measurement process I described should help you figure out if your box or roof is warped, vs your frame being bent (or a combination of these). If your measurements or the frame guy confirms that the frame is bent, and then the next question is why/how. Others here accept posted near frames angle when the stabilizer jacks are used to level the trailer.

Hither's how that works: The camper'south weight is normally supported by the wheels and tongue/hitch. This distributes the weight using the near robust parts of the frame. The stabilizers are just to steady the camper as people move about inside, not to concur up its weight.

To level the camper correctly, the wheels are first leveled (via ramps, blocks, etc) and that makes the camper level side-to-side; then the natural language jack virtually the hitch is used to lower or raise the tongue to level information technology front to rear.

If you compare the framing at the rear of the trailer with that between the axle and the hitch you'll come across that the majority of the strength is in that section, as it normally carries the trailer'due south total weight. The frame is usually less robust toward the rear of the camper. If someone messes up and uses the stabilizers instead, perchance at the dealer before you bought it, they'd be supporting the trailer's weight at its rear corners instead of over the axle. The framing isn't robust enough to bear the camper's full weight on it'south corners and the frame bends.

This could explain your problem. The trick might be in proving that you're not the one who bent information technology. If the problem wasn't there when you took delivery, then plain something happened since then.

It could besides exist that the frame was defective, that at that place were internal stresses or a structural weakness that led it to bend one time it was put into use. A frame specialist should exist able to place those kind of causes. And if it's not stock-still under warranty, a skilful frame guy should be able to straighten it out. These frames are non all that complex, basically ladder frames of U-shaped channel (maybe box channel if you're lucky) in many cases. Please let us know how it turns out, I'm very curious to see if my guess are correct or not.

edh:

Thank you for the advice. I know not to utilise the stabilizers to level so that wouldn't be the cause. I will effort the warranty road starting time and let yous know how it goes.

Some people here take documented impairment having been washed while camper was still in the hands of the dealer, peradventure by inept employees or who knows how. I hope it turns out to be a manufactring defect or at to the lowest degree something covered nether warranty so you tin can get dorsum to camping!
  • #fourteen
Thanks edh and anybody else. If this doesn't get covered nether warranty would it be ameliorate to take it to an auto body shop or to an RV dealer?

Also, how do I brand a warranty claim? Beginning through the dealer or through Forest River?

rabird
a few blurbs from your warranty in the owner'due south transmission.
I have no idea your issue (something simple like a pillow left on the bed or ...) simply the dealer is the place to go information technology looked at.

HOW TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICE
Defects in materials and workmanship of the camper during the first 12 months will be repaired free of accuse, if the RV is returned, with both 'to and from' transportation charges prepaid, to an authorized Wood River Inc. dealer.

YOUR OBLIGATIONS
To validate this Warranty, exist sure your dealer completed and returned the possessor'due south registration within x (10) days of purchase. The return of this registration class is a condition precedent to warranty coverage. Failure to return the completed class to Forest River Inc. will invalidate this warranty. You shall deliver this fold down tent camper for warranty service within a reasonable time, subsequently discovery of the defect, and in no upshot after expiration of the Warranty period, as set forth above. All expenses incurred by yous in obtaining warranty service shall be borne by you. Yous may obtain a list of authorized service centers to perform warranty service by contacting Forest River Inc. at the accost below

I'd be inclined to apply a frame guy rather than an RV shop. I doubt an RV shop would accept the frame straightening equipment needed, simply you could certainly run information technology past them. I suspect that if it's covered under warranty they'd outsource it themselves (unless they ship information technology back to the manufacturer).
